Magic Jack in the Media:

“…the MagicJack, which comes with its own telephone number, offers the flexibility of making and receiving calls for free wherever the device is plugged in around the world.” – BBC

“Magic Jack (www.magicjack.com) is the most portable of the pay  systems. It plugs into any available USB port and a phone plugs into that. Best of all, your phone number fits in the palm of your hand. If you travel, this is a must. It is USB based, not country based. So if you live in the USA and travel to europe, you can plug it into any pc over there and talk away.” – The Examiner

Easy to set up, free calls to US from India also and very good price

“The Banner says “NEVER PAY A MONTHLY PHONE BILL AGAIN!”.

Yes .. its true that after purchasing this instrument you can call any phone in USA and CANADA for free … you just have to pay $40 for first time and $20 from the second year…. its call quality is fantastic and no one cal say that you are using this … it has no comparison with your landline …….

This truly beats Skype… You really don’t need to buy a special made skype phone. U don’t have to hook up your house phone unless u want to have the convenience of bein away from ur CPU .Even then ,U can switch between Magic Jack software app phone and your house phone..The Only problems are the area codes (which I hear are expanding)This will help locals from bein charged Long Distance if they call your MJ # although u can make calls to anywhere in tha U.S and Canada ..It helps to plug MJ into a powered USB. Be sure to have a good supply of ram or limit what u do On the CPU while talking..
Great product..I truly don’t know why it’s gettin a beat down out tha box.
I think it’s gonna win tha race ,though.

If you are having voice quality issues all you need to do is buy a USB port with an adapter. It takes lots of energy from the computer to make a call so when you have a powered usb you don’t have to worry about the computers usage. You can buy one for under 7 bucks at EFORCITY.com

I bought 2 of these and plugged each one into a computer. I work from home and have 2 computers side by side. I wanted a cost-effective way to provide customer service phone numbers to my customers for 2 ecommerce web sites () that I run, without the high cost of a business phone line through the phone company. I now have 2 dedicated customer service phone lines that plug into an RCA 2-Line telephone and it works great! My only complaint would have to be that only one magicjack can be plugged into a computer. I would be happier if I could use 2 magicjacks on one computer, but I’m sure it’s a technology limitation. A recent upgrade, which occurs automatically, by the way of auto-downloads offers an on-screen 3G speed setting so you can use your 3G wireless enabled laptop on the go and the voice quality is adjusted for the lower bandwidth. Overall a GREAT product!

Hi: About a year ago, I was very excited about Magic Jack. I immediately sent my money, thinking positive.
    1. First problem. My prefex was not listed. Had to take a long distance one. About a week later, a prefex opened up for me. Which would not be long distance.
    2. HUGH PROBLEM!
As soon as you use the phone -
    was a ‘LOUD HUMMING NOISE’!
    3. Had to send it back. Was going to give it about a year to fix their problems.
    4. My son just got it, he has no problems.
    5. Was nice to see all the positive inputs. Enjoyed the little film clip.
Yes, I will eventually try it again.
I do remember, a huge problem. Was not able to speak one on one with anyone.
If I could have spoken to a live person, maybe they could have helped my with my problem?
    6. Plus, you don’t know if there is a prefix for your city, until AFTER you purchase their product.
    Loved all their cute whistles!

MagicJack!! sounds like a perfect gadget to help people save money. Yeah! It really sounds like a trusted gadget after all the media reviews and all kinds of excellences. However, I bought one with 2yrs service; its marketers really impressed me as many other people, but it’s the BIGGEST SCAM of all time. I know and heard many people who bought this gadget and they also have same or worse experience than I do. I haven’t seen or heard not even one happy person who used MagicJack. Why is that? This product is a WASTE for your money. “DON’T BUY IT, DON’T LISTEN TO THIER ADVERTISERS; it’s just marketing and business. DON’T LET THEM FOOL YOU and SEARCH FOR CONSUMER REVIEWS before you get it” This product doesn’t have the sound quality you expect, and you will get upset most of the time because it’s like using a cellular phone with no signal. The quality and its customer service are bad. I decided not to use it anymore even though I lost a lot of money instead of saving. Remember, you get what you pay for and cheap products or service mean worthless quality.
