Okay, so the Slap Chop commercial is hilarious, but how does the product actually work?  Watch the review above.

Overall/Summary:

  • “de-skins” garlic very well, and onion okay
  • cleans easily
  • no instruction necessary
  • chops quickly

I had a $3 slap-chop type thing I bought years ago and loved it to pieces – literally. What broke on that was the plastic ring that supports the chopper and contains the food while it’s being chopped. That said, for $3 I did get 8 months of use out of it, so I went ahead and bought the SlapChop. If it lasts as long I’ll be satisfied. Also, graty’d probably work very well on those soft-as-all-get-out vegan cheeses.

It does not chop as shown in the tv. Need more hits. And does not give as granular as you want. Blades are not that sharp. Cheap parts and loosely assembled.

I thought the ShamWow was dumb, but this actually seems like a good product. Vince delivers his lines clearly without screaming in your face, with more creativity to boot.

The Slap Chop doesn’t work. The food gets stuck in the blade and does not chop the food. Even if you chop the food yourself before putting it under the chopper, it doesn’t work. Cost $19.99 + $12.95 shipping. They also add in a grater you didn’t ask for and charge you $5.00. Save your money!

Does not work as well as I would like it to. Takes too much force and too many slaps to do the job. At first, did not even cut through cherry tomatoes. I do not feel this is worth the $20 it cost in the store. I would have really resented it if I had paid shipping and handling on top of the price.

Does not work as advertised. Made a slushy mess out of a firm piece of tomato.
Bought this at Walmart and am returning it. So thankful I didn’t order through mail. Good idea to pass on this one.

this product is garbage! it doesn’t cut the tomatoes/peppers/etc but instead flattens them into a watery pancake. too small to fit most tomatoes/etc so everything needs to be cut in half. and you really need to hit it hard for it to chop so your hand will be sore after just one minute. total garbage!

Slapchop works nicely actually. Relieving stress while finely chopping fresh basil = win. You’re gonna love my nuts.

Works fairly well, not worth the money..Buyer Beware..when ordering.. at the very
top they auto checkmark for you an additional cost for better quality blades for both units at a total price of $39.85 plus $23.80 shipping for a total of
$63.65..they got to me on this one and they didn’t want to talk about it.

I have been farming vegetables and fruits for 50 years, and I can 500-700 jars a year. I can truthfully say the slap chop is the biggest piece of junk I have ever used. Everything gets stuck, however, it may be good to scramble raw eggs. I gave the slap chop and graty to a flea market owner, and he sold them for $2.00 each which is $2.00 more than they are worth. Anytime, they say buy one and get one free for additional shipping and handling, it is a rip off. Do not be an idiot like I was and buy this junk.

I do not like the slap chop. I bought it to use to chop up my carrots, celery and potatoes for stews to put in my crockpot. The potatoes & carrots get stuck in the blades and make a mess. I would not recommend this to a friend. It took me longer to remove the vegetables from the blades each time then it would to cut the potatoes and carrots up by hand.

Works ok but advertised at 19,95 plus s/h US. I ordered from Canada and bill came to 81.00 Canadian on my card. Totally ripped off and unable to contact to find out why extra costs?
